Sam, our yard manager

Sam Taylor has been manager of Scarletts for several years bringing her skills and considerable experience to many liveries and their horses.

She is an enthusiastic, happy and friendly (qualified) riding instructor with many years of experience behind her. She can provide lessons in all disciplines for all ages, whether you are looking for general lessons or working towards a show or exam.

Sam says: "I understand that every horse and rider are different so I cater for the clients individual requirements. Young / green or naughty horses not a problem! I am happy to sympathetically rebuild any lost confidence be it in horse or rider! There's more to horses than just riding so I also provide Stable Management/Theory sessions."

"Along with practical lessons on tacking-up, grooming, handling, mucking out and rugging up, fitting of boots, bandaging, general health care and sick nursing, plaiting, trimming and clipping, feeding, skeletal frame and conformation. The list is endless! I also assist liveries in searching for and buying a new horse".

Hoof Stuff

Liveries are welcome to use their own support team. We have access to registered remedial farriers, but the yard barefoot trimmer is Paul, who holds the DipWCF qualification and is very experienced.

Andrew Creswell, Yard Owner

Andrew Creswell oversees the Yard from the Nursery office and, although available most of the time for emergencies, generally on day-to-day matters likes to keep a low profile and hide behind Sam and her expertise.
